Yesterday at the Bridgettine Sisters’ Convent, we were deeply moved by a beautifully inspiring mini-retreat. Pete McCann shared a heartfelt and powerful testimony about faith and perseverance in the face of unimaginable loss, reflecting on the passing of his son, Henry, at just 25 years old, as well as his son Nicholas, at 22 weeks in utero.
Through the heavy topic of grief, Pete reminded us of the ultimate truth: this is not our home. His words invited us to anchor our hearts in the promise of eternal life and to trust God’s plan, even in life’s darkest moments.
Thank you, Pete and Katie McCann, for witnessing to the beauty of faith in both joy and sorrow. Your courage and unwavering trust in God have inspired us to deepen our own faith journeys. Thank you, Father Hartge, for actively participating in the morning as well.
May we all hold tight to the hope that comes from knowing Christ and practicing our Catholic Faith, which carries us through every season of life.
