The Bridgettine Sisters of Columbus joyfully welcomed Mother Fabia, Abbess General of the Bridgettine Order, and Mother Vicar from Rome for their canonical visit — a time of spiritual renewal, encouragement, and unity within the worldwide Bridgettine family.
This sacred visit reminds us of the strength and grace that flow through our international community. United by the charism of Saint Bridget of Sweden, the Sisters continue to live a life rooted in prayer, hospitality, and love for the unity of the Church. Each visit from Rome deepens our shared mission and renews our commitment to glorify God in all things.
We remain ever grateful for the generous support of our friends and benefactors, whose prayers and kindness sustain the Sisters’ life of service. Together, we continue to build a place of peace and welcome where all may encounter Christ’s love.
As Mother Fabia and Mother Vicar conclude their time in Columbus, we humbly ask for your continued prayers — for the Sisters here and throughout the world — that their mission may bear fruit for the salvation of souls. 🙏
We are thrilled and deeply grateful to announce that the Bridgettine Sisters have been awarded a $3,000 grant from the Catholic Foundation!
This generous award is specifically designated to support our “Amor meus crucifixus est” — Vocations, Formation & Hospitality Initiative. The grant represents a significant vote of confidence in our mission and our work, and for that, we offer our heartfelt thanks to the Catholic Foundation and their dedicated board.
The Meaning Behind the Grant
The phrase “Amor meus crucifixus est” (“My love is crucified”) is at the heart of our spirituality, reminding us of the profound love of Christ that inspires our service. This initiative is vital to our community in two key ways:
Supporting Vocations and Formation: The funds will help provide necessary resources for our sisters currently in the formation process. This includes educational materials, spiritual direction, and creating a sustainable, prayerful environment where young women can discern and grow in their calling to serve Christ and the Church as Bridgettine Sisters.
Extending Christian Hospitality: Our charisms are prayer and hospitality for the unity of the church, and we strive to be a welcoming presence to all who come to us seeking prayer, counsel, or community. This grant will help us enhance our facilities and programs to continue offering a warm and genuinely Christian welcome to guests, pilgrims, and those seeking spiritual solace.
A Partnership in Faith
The work we do—fostering new vocations, offering a place of prayer, and serving others—is only possible through the generosity of foundations and individuals who share our vision. The Catholic Foundation’s $3,000 award is not just financial assistance; it is a spiritual blessing that will immediately impact our sisters and the many lives we touch through our ministry.
We extend our sincere prayers and profound gratitude to the Catholic Foundation for their commitment to supporting religious life and charitable work in our community. May God bless their mission and all their benefactors.
